As part of beggar free Jaipur campaign, around 800 beggars will receive skills development training from the Rajasthan Skills Development and Livelihoods Corporation (RSLDC), and later receive jobs. Meanwhile, the corporation is in the process of identifying transgender people so that they too can be trained and have jobs.
“Preparation is underway. We have already identified the training partner (for the skills development of beggars). It will start in a few weeks.”Said Neeraj K Pawan, president of RSLDC.
“The beggars will also be provided with jobs after skill development training. So far, 1214 beggars have been identified, in which about 800 people will be trained,” he added. The process of providing training for transgenders in the pipeline, an official said.
“We are in the final stage of preparation about the beginning of beggar’s training. After police research, we found that some beggars were educated, qualified and healthy. It will start as a pilot project and can later be expanded. The training of beggars will start at the end of this month or in the first week of January,” said the official.
