After eight-month-long lockdown, Tourists were seen enjoying elephant rides at Amber/Amer Fort in Jaipur. The attraction was closed to the public due to lockdown of the COVID-19 virus. The state government resumed the elephant ride on Wednesday. The government of Rajasthan decided to allow elephant rides at Amer Fort in Jaipur and Hathi Gaon from 25 November. Previously, a ban on elephant rides was implemented on March 18.
The government has made wearing masks mandatory for everyone. The mahouts were happy after they were able to start their livelihood. They decided to implement their own roster daily. Mahouts said: “There are a total of 100 elephants. Initially, we decided to divide them into two lots of 50 elephants. The first lot of 50 elephants will go on the first day, the rest will go on the next day.
