Rajasthan government has banned on the sale of Chinese Manjha for kite-flying on the occasion of Makar Sankranti (January 14). In this regard, the Home Ministry of the State Government issued instructions to District Collectors and Superintendents of Police.
At Makar Sankranti in Jaipur, there is the grand kite festival celebrated by people. Chinese Manjha is mostly used in this. In recent years, there are many cases found of cutting the neck of people and hurting birds.
According to the instructions of the Home Ministry, Chinese Manjha is prepared by mixing various metals. This Manjha is very sharp and conductive of electricity. Due to this, there is a loss of life of people and birds.
