The 14th edition of the Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF), which started online on 19th February, has received an overwhelming response. This year, JLF is being held on a virtual avatar due to a pandemic. For the first six days, it had distinguished speakers, including Prasoon Joshi and Shashi Tharoor. The literary festival will end on 28th February, 10 days after its start.
Jaipur Literature Festival, described as the “greatest literary show on Earth”, brings the greatest writers, thinkers, humanitarians, politicians, business leaders, sportsmen and artists from all over the world on a common platform to express and engage in thoughtful debate and dialogue.
The 14th edition of JLF is the first-ever online edition. The organizers claimed that they would have expected to see 10 times more footfall in this edition compared to previous editions. Sanjay Roy, the producer and organizer of JLF, said, “What we have seen is that the festival’s accessibility has increased a lot and since it started on February 19th, we’ve had an average of 34,000 to 35,000 people viewing the session on a daily basis.”
